TX and RX gains in osmocom and amplifiers in bladeRF

Post by fperal »

Hi.

I haven't found information about the relationship between blade gain in the different stages and osmocom gains
In bladeRF gains are set by the LMS6002D, so we have

Transmision
TXLPF gain: 0 or 6dB
TXVGA1 gain: 0 to 31dB in 1dB step
TXVGA2 gain: 0 to 25 dB in 1dB step

Reception
RXLNA gain: 0 or 6dB
RXVGA1 gain: 0 to 25 dB in 1 dB step
RXLPF gain 0 or 6dB
RXVGA2 gain 0 to 30 dB in 3 dB step

In a osmocom source or osmocom sink we have
BB gain
IF gain
RF gain

The relationship between BladeRF gains and osmocom gains may be ........ ??????
BB gain -> RXVGA2,
IF gain -> RXVGA1, TXVGA1
RF gain -> RXLNA, TXVGA2

and the LPF gain??

regards

That sounds reasonable to me, but you may want to dig up the actual API calls that are being made to libbladeRF to be sure.
