Re: How to measure channel power

Thanks bglod for your advice that definitely clears out very important aspects. As for the average power - you are right - I'm scaling to 0 dB (relative power) 69.23dB being 10log10(2048*2048*2) Unfortunately I don't have a signal generator to run some basic calibration. Do you think that RF Loop ba...

How to measure channel power

My ultimate goal is to measure channel power and be able to plot a power distribution percentage. The API is working - I can stream I/Q. As I understood the sample either I or Q is a number in the range [-2048, 2047]. So signal ith sample is (Ith + Qthj). To get the power - I can simply calculate "I...

Re: CAN FFT BE ON THE FPGA

I figured out I can process the window digitally. The RXLPF doesn't substitute it.

Re: CAN FFT BE ON THE FPGA

Thanks Jadona - kindly appreciate your response. To move forward, I decided to keep the DFFT to an external processor in an attempt to come up with a spectrum DVR :) - BladeRF streams the I/Q- thanks to the BladeRF-CLI API with Synchronous metadata support - User specifies span, centre-freq, RBW, VB...

CAN FFT BE ON THE FPGA

Hi All; not sure if my question is logical. Can anybody tell me if FFT functionality can be taken to the FPGA or if someone has already done so. Then, instead of streaming IQ - we would stream spectral components. Someone might ask why? SDRs actually extend beyond transmission and reception - they c...

Re: Spectrum analyzer Updates ?

I hope that there would be Spectrum analyzer functionality on BladeRF. I'm not sure if there are existing tool to drive the central frequency to swing the 28Mhz spanning bandwidth quickly. SDR Console has limitation on the spanning BW. If anyone can share any GUI to assist in using BaldeRF as spectr...
