Blade RF Micro A9 not working despite multimeter test success

Post by lkrebs05 »

I have a Blade RF Micro A9 SDR that refuses to turn on.

Here's what happened:
Whilst I was trying to change out my B210 USRP for the BladeRF just to see if it'd work with the configuration I have set up.
Whilst setting up I plugged in the USB and a power cable to the DC port. ** I found out afterwards the BladeRF is USB powered.
A bad smell came from the DC and USB ports so I unplugged them and assessed the damage.
There was no visible board damage nor any visible damage to the ports. We've also tested with the multimeter and everything seems to have power.
However now the SDR is not reading on the computer at all. I have a working BladeRF and it reads onto the computer perfect, however this one doesn't.

Any suggestions?
