bladeRF sweep or wide bandwidth - spectrum analyzer replacement

Post by botekp »

Hello I have been trying to get wide bandwidth, spectrum sweep or spectrum analyzer functionality out of my bladerfxa9.

1) Found an older article by RobertG to get 124MHz bandwidth (https://www.nuand.com/large-bandwidth/) but it does not compile with latest Volk (https://github.com/gnuradio/gnuradio/issues/2937). Would you be happy to post updated guideline for Mint 19 compiling with GNURadio 3.8 and Pybombs?

2) Are there any other spectrum analyzer like projects that support bladerf?

Cheers

1) Ok did get pybombs to build old gnuradio3.7 as per the guideline at https://www.nuand.com/large-bandwidth/ only to find that this 124MHz support was only a quick proof of concept:

https://nuand.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=3687 : "Robert did a proof of concept for sweeping larger frequencies via modifications to gr-osmosdr and gqrx:"

2) Found out that Nuand's experimental Qgrx (which I believe supports 124MHz) is not further compatible with Nuands experimental gr-osmosdr that has this feature now removed

3) Noticed on internet a number of other people struggling with compiling the same thing

Robert if you read this, could you please provide numbers of commits of your POC that compile together? 124MHz would be a great help since Bladerf does not seem to have any decent Spectrum Analyser software as yet.

Kind regards

Please check the updated instructions blog post and the support page. There are snapshot tarballs for gqrx ( https://nuand.com/downloads/experimental-gqrx.git.tar ) and gr-osmosdr ( https://nuand.com/downloads/experimenta ... dr.git.tar ) on https://www.nuand.com/support/ .

The instructions https://www.nuand.com/large-bandwidth/ should also be tested with GNURadio version 3.7.9.2 .
Please note the instructions rely on the gnuradio-build utility, here are instructions on how to compile using it: https://github.com/Nuand/bladeRF/wiki/G ... _grosmosdr

Thanks for the info Robert, much appreciated.

Download of

https://www.nuand.com/downloads/experim ... dr.git.tar

seems to be removed.

Is there any alternative source?
