Antenna for transmission

Post by adam »

Hi all

What is the BladeRF's output impedance? I'm having trouble finding any documentation on this.

Also, if I attach an antenna that doesnt exactly match the output impedance, do I run the risk of damaging the BladeRF? For example, suppose the output impedance is 75 ohms and I attach a 50 ohm load, will this damage the device?

Thanks,
Adam

It's 50 ohms. The output power is pretty low, so having mismatched impedances won't kill the device but it isn't recommended to transmit into an open for a long time either.

I hope this helps.

FWIW, there's some links to some MiniCircuits attenuator and terminator kits here: https://github.com/Nuand/bladeRF/wiki/b ... erminators
