Exploring High-Frequency Performance on bladeRF: Tips for Optimizing 5GHz+ Experiments

Post by earthworm »

Hi everyone,

I’m currently experimenting with the bladeRF SDR platform and exploring signals above 5 GHz. While the documentation provides a great starting point, I’m running into challenges related to maintaining signal integrity and achieving stable streaming at higher frequencies.

I’d love to hear from the community:
  • How do you optimize antenna selection and placement for 5–6 GHz experiments?
  • Are there any specific settings in the FPGA or GNU Radio blocks that you’ve found improve performance at these frequencies?
  • Any tips for minimizing noise and interference when doing multi-channel experiments?
I’m looking to share knowledge and compare approaches, especially for real-time MIMO streaming and high-frequency RF experiments. Any advice, insights, or examples from your setups would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your input — eager to learn from the experienced bladeRF users here!
