Official bladeRF forum

Up to now I blamed the virtualization, but with the windows package I have the same issuse. The only FX3 image that works for me is an older one, that I downloaded right after freeing my BladeRF out of customs prisoner The file is called latest.img, but I have no idea how to find out some version information. With the actual FX3 images I can't load the FPGA, not from within the virtual Linux, not from the Win8 command line tool, not with an USB2.0 cable, not with an USB3.0 cable. The BladeRF is recognized both from the OS and from the bladerf-cli, but loading the FPGA throws errors. I have to burn this latest.img with the Cypress tools to make my BladeRF work again.

Well, everything works just fine, gnuradio, gqrx, so I have no reason to complain, but anyway this is a bit strange!

Way Hey, got it to work. Don't use USB3 initially. Get the device out of Legacy mode using USB2 and the bladerf installer then revert back to USB3. GNURADIO is now on the cards running under Windows.

Anyone foresee any problems with this?

What is your USB 3.0 controller?

i addmit, i was testing it on usb2.0

Anyway no kits until I get my USB 3.0 support working, apart from anything else I need to test the FFT with the full 38.4 MHz sample rate.

I have a Renesas Electronics USB3 host controller on an expansion card from Transcend model TS-PDU3 if that helps

Does it work with the bladeRF using Windows? If so, which version of Windows?

Thanks. I don't have USB 3.0 on my Windows 7 systems, when my Windows 7 system was sick I bought a new i7-4770 which came with W8. I repaired the W7 system (the NVidia card was crashed the hardware), this is now an emergency standby system.

Anyway, next week I hope to assist the boys from nuand and get W8 working with the bladeRF. I don't think CPU will be an issue at the maximum sample rates but it is possible, if so I'll look at using OpenCL / CUDA for the FFT.

In Linux CPU is definitely not an issue (i5 with gqrx and 30 MS/s has still some room to the top), so why should this differ under Windows?

It depends on what you're doing - the above statement is rather vague.

I haven't used your program quite yet but it looks very pretty.

I'm getting there - the structure of the bladeRF is different to the other SDR radios I have supported, spending time ironing out issues.

I sent you a PM, and I am still willing to commit to testing. Let me know, and I can setup and test whichever Windows version you wish tested.
